Dave,

AT coins are blue near the rims and the color goes away towards the center unless it was heated evenly. Other colors are pink,yellow, brown,gray and black.

I am very good at toning coins. I use conduction, convection, inductive, UV light, radiative & microwave methods of heating the coins. But I always let the buyer know they are AT coins up front.

Dave,

The stove is old fasioned but a neat way to do it is by inductive heating. This is the same method used when heating a bearing to be placed on a rotating shaft of some sort.
