They are still out there. They are making more. Buyers who buy slabs and not coins are still getting burned.

Are the fakes getting better? Are the chinese still using non-gold alloy for their fake coin slabs? (The coins in them, I mean)

 

They will do whatever is most profitable.

This seems to be new to numismatics, but it has been a problem for years in many other collector venues.
