Variety help? Grade?

3 posts in this topic

I bought this coin as a 37-D 3-leg buffalo on eBay, but when I got it, i noticed the back had the correct missing leg attribute, but it had a little leg like thing sticking out behind the only front foot. what would this variety be called? is it a 37D 3 1/2? is it rare? Sorry, I'm not uber familiar with buffalo nickels. so whatcha think?

All the 37 D Buffalos have that "little leg looking thing" as you pointed out.

You should get that coin authenticated – there are a lot of counterfeits floating around. One diagnostic of a fake is if the P and U of E Pluribus Unium are touching the Bisons back. It is hard to tell from your photo as it is very blurry.

I believe you have a genuine one, as I stated in the other thread, it looks like Black Diamond is taking a whiz and that's a big diagnostic of the 3 legger.
