1943 s steel penny

I'd say XF but unsure of the reprocessed part. Looks alot like the 1943D's that I had pulled out of an origional bank roll my mother had set aside years ago.

Reprocessing means that the coin was cleaned, removing oxidation and then had a fresh plating of zinc to make it look BU.

Yep, definitely reprocessed.

 

Barrels of these were acid-treated to remove rust, then replated to make them look "new". You frequently find them in pre-packaged framed "collections", sold at retail outlet stores. Back in the day, Sears sold a ton of them.
