Hi Chriss.

 

In my previous post, you mentioned that conservation may help on toning and residue spots.

 

What is a residue spot and how does it differ from a toning spot?

Residue would be a substance sitting on the surface of a coin. Residue can lead to toning and environmental damage.

 

Toning is a chemical change in the top layer of metal on a coin.
