It is always a good idea to note any specific concerns when submitting a coin for conservation. The submission invoice has a section just for submitter notes and any notes included are seen by both the evaluators and the conservators. Descriptions such as what you would like to see removed, such as a spot, or left alone, such as toning, are valid to note.
