Republica Dominicana - Juan Pablo Duarte large coin or medal - I am completely at a loss as to what this piece is. What I have is some sort of medallion or commemorative piece highlighting the birth and death of Juan Pablo Duarte, (1813-1876). This appears to be a silver piece, but I am not certain of that; it weighs approximately 23 grams and has a diameter of about 38 mm. The orientation is medal and it has several small bumps and nicks on the rim, indicating a fair amount of wear or bumping around throughout its life. I will attach photos, if possible, that will be far more descriptive than anything I can add.

It looks like a medal rather than a coin. Your pictures didn't come through so I will try to post them for you.
