If I were to guess how he got it done, I would say its the Verdi-care product he had been speaking about on several occasions as his cleaner of choice for copper.

I've used VERDI-CARE many times with good results. It is a very gentle product that often requires hours of soaking, but it has never harmed the surfaces on any of my copper.
