Can NCS conserve one side?

I was wondering if NGC can conserve just one side of a coin. The coin in question is a end of roll toner and has a very small spot. I dont want to jeopardize the toning on the obverse in order to remove the spot

While the answer to your question will depend on the individual coin and the problem it has to be taken care of, in general it is possible to conserve one side, or even one part of one side, of a coin.
