Slab Date

5 posts in this topic

Just a thought.

I have been going by this shop each Saturday for a few months now. Every week there is always a dozen or so new coins and I would notice that some of the ones that had caught my eye would be gone after a few weeks. BUT there was this one slab that has been there everytime. It was an older NGS that has a "W" on the label. Every week I would notice that it was never purchased. Today I broke down and bought it.

As I was adding it to my registry I was began to think about how long it had been at the shop. Then I began to wonder how long ago it was sent to NGC to be forever sealed in its' slab.

I think it would be a nice touch for the owner of a slab to find out what date it was slabed.

I can't think of a reason that NGC would be unwilling to release this information.

Thoughts?

The "W" is pretty rare even if they are no longer white.

but the "T" designation for toning is even more rare.
