This is a post in response to my "care to grade?" post from last week. Most of the conversation went to not being able to see cameo that I swore was there. I got some pics that kinda' show the cameo and I want people's thoughts on them. Just judging the cameo please not the quality of the pictures.

I see plenty of cameo, especially on the obverse. But, as I'm sure you know, the SMS series is plagued with coins that have murky fields to say the least. And this could be the case. Even though you can see contrast, there just might not be enough to get the cameo designation.

The fields are beautiful glassy mirrors. Hence what I said in the other thread... What were they smoking?

I see you have a tread or hair on the Y of Liberty is that encapsulated?

 

Cam is difficult from photos......... does have great contrast...
