Presidential Error Coins

Just curious why the Collector's Society will not allow the inclusion of the Presidential error coins in the Presidential Coins Competetive category. To include the full rich history of these coins it should include all the bumps in the road made be the mint to get the coins where they are today

The NGC Registry does not currently allow error coins (except for a few varieties and widely collected errors such as some doubled dies). Presidential dollar errors, while popular, are not collected as part of the regular series to the extent that, for example, the 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Cent is and we therefore do not include them in the Competitive Sets.
