There are steps we can take to improve the apperance of a coin such as this and keep it stable in the long-term. Typically coins that have been buried for some time as this piece appears to be do suffer some permanent damage from the environment they were subjected to for many years. There likely is not a pristine example under the brown and black. There are however techniques NCS can employ to make the coin more attractive and more stable to future enjoyment.
