Submission Of Slabbed Coin For Cross Grading

2 posts in this topic

I just rec'd the following coins back from PCGS listed as "Genuine."

(1) St Gaudens "Rim or edge nick"

(2) 1911 $5 Indian "Cleaned"

(3) 1913-S Buffalo Nickel "Cleaned"

(4) 1937-D "Damage or tooling"

I want a grade, not "genuine" what can I expect from NCG and if I sumbit them to NCG should I leave them in the slabs or send them in as raw coins and take my chances?

Thank you for your question.

Please see the section of the NGC website about Details grading. LINK Many coins, such as those that have been cleaned or scratched, are not eligible for regular NGC grading but may receive a non-numeric adjectival grade (i.e. Fine Details). It sounds like your coins would fall under that category.
