upcoming coins and a finished project...FINALLY!!

Hello and good day to everybody,

I wanted to share a few coins that I purchased over the last few days...1991 Mt Rushmore 50c and 1995 Olympics/Baseball 50c commemoratives grade MS-69. The 50c comms are very inexpensive at this grade and very easy to find. It leaves me with only 8 more coins to go to finish this set.

I was also very happy to hear the the Mint will be issuing the 2010 Proof SAEs in a few weeks. I forgot that I still had a subscription for the SAEs so I quickly double checked to make sure all the info was correct but I did lower the order number from 5 to 3. They are going to cost a bit more and I rather use the extra $$$ for Christmas.

I have also been keeping up with the new Medal of Honor Commemorative coming out next year. It seems to be a great looking coin and I can't wait to add it to my collection!

I have enclosed a picture of what has been keeping me busy lately. The hydrant has been sitting in my garage for the last 5 years and I finally got around to stripping it down...all 7 layers of paint...to bare metal which consists of cast iron and brass. Then came 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. I am quite happy with the results.

Thanks for taking the time to read my journal and looking at my coins.

That is one cool looking fire hydrant ....I love it...I think I'm going to have to get one of these. These old style hydrants bring back old memories of when I was a kid living in Jersey City,NJ in the summer. We ,us kids use to make a socket wrench out of a big pipe to open them so we can all cool off on those hot summer days...until the cops come along and shut it off and take our home made wrench away from us. But we always made another.

Thanks Jeffrey for sharing this great hydrant with us.
