most frbn's have the signatures of the districts governor and cashier, but in the new york district it's the gov and deputy gov, in chicago it's the sig of the gov and the 't dep gov, and in st louis it's the sig of the gov and the controller.

Some districts produced web press notes. The difference is the printing process, and the web press notes are easily identified by a back check number on the reverse in the upper right location.

Web notes were made by the following districts:

* 1988A Boston (A-E or A-F or A-G block)

* 1988A New York (B-L block)

* 1988A Philadelphia (C-A)

* 1988A Richmond (E-I or E-K)

* 1988A Atlanta (F-L or F-M or F-N or F-U or F-V and/or perhaps F-*)

* 1988A Chicago (G-P or G-Q)

* 1993 New York (B-H)

* 1993 Philadelphia (C-A)

* 1995 Boston (A-C or A-D)

* 1995 New York (B-H)

* 1995 Cleveland (D-C)

* 1995 Atlanta (F-D)

The Twelve Federal Reserve Districts

http://www.federalreserve.gov/otherfrb.htm

significant differences:

- the branch boundaries

- In the 12th District, the Seattle Branch serves Alaska, and

- the San Francisco Bank serves Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

- the New York Bank serves the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands;

- The Federal Reserve officially identifies Districts by number and Reserve Bank city.

Well I'm not sure if it's this easy but the District differences are the A, B, C for all 12 district's. They also change the number to match in the inside corners so A=1, B=2 ect.

On the newer notes you look at the block at a AB is a B district note and not the first letter.

There is also a district series that instead of the Letters in the seal it's the numbers.
