Grade the Layfayette

It came out of an old ANACS MS-61 small holder that I cracked about 10 years ago but haven't sent in to a TPG. I'm kinda lazy.

It doesn't have a lot of flash, and I would be pleased if it went as high as AU-58 which may be wishful thinking.

A lot of Lafayette dollars were stored in something that caused them to tone darkly. Collectors had two choices, and neither of them was good. One was to leave the coin alone. The other was to try to remove the tarnish. This is slightly circulated and I think It’s had the tarnish removed in a way that took the luster, if there was any luster to save. The MS-61 ANACS gave it was too high. Given the fact that the coin has little or no luster, I think you are looking at an AU-50 grade at best.
