Great Discussion Re Numismatic Photography And HDR Images ...

I've heard of the method in photography circles not related to coins. To my understanding, the problem is that an image with very high dynamic range cannot be suitably displayed on a typical monitor, since those are limited in dynamic range. And they certainly cannot be printed with suitable range.

 

It's kind of like trying to listen to music with large dynamics through tiny 1" speakers.
