Does anyone have any info on weight variations on authentic 1914-D pennies. I have 2 from different sources that weigh in at 2.95 and 2.97 grams from the norm of 3.11 grams. I read that they vary in weight somewhere but find that artical or who wrote it.

The U. S. Mint standard for cents of that period was 3.11 grams, with a tolerance of +/- 0.13. An unworn cent could thus weigh as little as 2.98 grams and still be acceptable.

You didn't specify the approximate grade of your coins, but worn examples could easily weigh 2.95 or 2.97 grams.
