red brown color designation on copper

What is the criteria used to determine a red/brown color designation for copper coins? Can a coin be 100% red on one side and 100% brown on the other side and qualify for rb?

Boiler,

There isn't a criteria that is precise enough to be written in stone. However, as a general rule, on Indians and Lincolns, we like to see a minimum of about 15 to 20% red on both sides before we'll call it RB. We have called coins that are red or mostly red on the obverse but completely brown on the reverse RB. It is very unlikely that we would call a coin RB that is completely brown on the obverse regardless of what the reverse looks like. This is simply because as a general rule the obverse will always carry more weight in determining both grade and certain subjective designations. I hope this helps.
