I posted these on the Barber Thread - but - as I also collect more than just Barbers,

I thought the new images from BluCCphotos deserve their own thread.

I'll add to this as I receive the images.

The photographer wasn't too pleased with this image - and plans on reshooting

this coin.

Here's something I got at FUN at The Penny Lady's tables...

Another new image - I should have sent this coin back to PCGS to reholder -

those scratches are on the holder.

I picked this coin up at the Bowers and Merena FUN auction.

I sent the coin off to BluCCphotos almost immediately after

receiving it. Two newer purchaes also need to be reholdered

as well. The way some people treat these slabs is a sin !

James,

As soon as the 1891 Proof Quarter comes back from BluCCphotos, I'm going to ship it back to PCGS to get the coin into a new holder. Once I get it back in hand, I'll be in touch. Thanks for the offer !!

Mike

Hi Mike. Actually, I was hoping you'd let me take a stab at it in the scruffy holder.... But I'd be delighted to image it either way. Thanks!

Mike, congratulations on the assorted coins. They all look quite nice. :applause: I'm VERY glad to see that you collect something beside Barbers.

Agreed. I swear some people use them as frisbees.

The 1889 Proof Set was a gift to my Dad for his 80th Birthday - and over the next

eleven years, I kept upgrading it - however, my Dad passed away shortly after

his 91st Birthday - and since then, I upgraded the Dime and the Half Dollar

with the ones I had imaged.

In 2007 - I took my Dad to Ireland, Belgium and Spain for a couple of months

and he did really well for a 90 yr old ! We spent another six weeks at my Cape

Cod cottage and he loved being so close to his native Boston.

Upon our return to Naples, Florida, I had a surprise 90th Birthday party for him

and about 60 friends and neighbors attended...he was so happy to share his day

with so many friends and family.

My gift to him for his 90th was this tiny coin - but it was his Birthyear.

Some absolutely lovely coins :applause: ... you definitely need to use them for the COIN UNO thread.

Just for interests sakes, why did you give your Dad the year 1889?... was that a grandparents birthyear or something?

My Grandfather was born in 1889.

That Proof set meant a lot to my Dad

when he was alive.

My photographer, BluCCphotos is sending me images as he gets to them.

For what ever reason, I can't post the larger images. I should call "The Geek

Squad" to come over to see what I'm doing wrong.

I'll post the 1898 Proof Set next...
