Congrats on New FS Designation But......

4 posts in this topic

Since PCGS only requires 5 Full Steps and shows in the Registry as a FS Jeff. This is certainly a great change is great for NGC Jeff''s, putting them on above Par with PCGS Jeff's.(?)

One question, are PCGS coins now going to be counted as a 5FS Jeff or a 6FS for the Registry? The only possible bone of contention, will be that since PCGS does not offer the 5/6FS designation, it's a no win situation. If given 6FS, could be unfair to NGC holder's, conversly, how do we know if the PCGS coin has 5 or 6 steps?

It's a great idea and surely will increase interest in NGC graded Jeff's. Just a thought and may not be an issue. 893applaud-thumb.gif

Thanks

Since PCGS recognizes 5-step coins as FS, it will necessary to score PCGS FS nickels as 5FS for the time being.

It has to be this way! No matter a 6FS in a PCGS slab marked FS. The label comes first and until PCGS changes to a label the same as or similar to NGC's, there is no way a labeled FS should be considered a 6FS even if it is.
