Chopmarked coins

NGC does not certify chopmarked Trade Dollars or any other copmarked US coin. The only mark that I think would be considered would be the Gin stamps of Japan, but the more commonly found chops are not certified.

 

An alternative to NGC would be the NCS holder for these coins. In the NCS holder, the coin is assigned an adjectival grade along with the reason the coin was not certified under the normal NGC guidelines...in this case, chopmark.
