Binion Pedigree?

9 posts in this topic

I'm undecided on them. Part of me is intrigued, I think, because I like watching the poker tours on tv and the connection with the Binion casinos, lure, etc.

On the other hand, I ask myself, what is the big deal. They were just hoarded by someone that had a casino.

I've got a Binion NGC Morgan: 1921 in GD06. I like it because almost all of the real low circulated stuff didn't get grades via NGC. This one did. (I think the pop report shows it at 01).

Personally I think it's really a Die Set Up coin as I see traces of luster.

-I'll bring it to Long Beach if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Constructive post.

I think Binion might add some allure because of the cloak and dagger way he died, but other than that, most of the coins were average grade and not PQ. I think the colorful Binion coins are pretty cool.

Pat,

Yes, I am not going to w/c post. I'm tough.

Coin Related:

NGC has some interesting folks waiting in the wings to pedigree their collections. I know of one person who has a FABULOUS collection and refuses to grade the coins because it will skew all the rarities, but they will eventually go into NGC holders.

I suspect 2004 is going to be a stellar year for coins, people who collect them and the goings on that surrounds them.
