Judd book edition question

6 posts in this topic

I have the third edition of Judd's book,

United States Pattern, Experimental, and Trial Pieces
. It lists the following numbers for 20 cent piece (double dime) patterns:

1874

1354-56 (seated Liberty)

1357-58 (ditto)

1875

1392-1395 ("Sailor Head")

1396-98 (seated Liberty)

1399-1402 (seated Liberty)

1403-1406 (seated Liberty)

1407-10 (regular seated Liberty)

1411-13 (ditto)

1414-15 (ditto)

1876

1454 (regular dies trial piece)

The appendix includes a uniface reverse pattern "UNITED STATES OF NORTH AMERICA 1875) and pattern 1407 struck on a square lead planchet.

Do later additions include any other 20 cent piece patterns?

If so, please let me know the edition and number of other patterns. Thanks!

Andrew Pollock's "United State Patterns....." is a bit dated now (15+ yrs old) but has far more info than Judd.

Andy Lustig, (MrEureka) on the PCGS boards is a walking encyclopedia of patterns, too.
