I recently purchased a Whitman folder with various dates of nickels in it (only 1/5 full). I didn't pay much and only wanted to use it as a learning tool.

 

When I got the folder home and examined the coins further I noticed that the back side of most of them has turned black and one of them even has what I would call "brass" film on it/them.

 

I have removed all the coins from the holder but what do I do about the black film? Not that it will have much effect on the price of these but, in the future I may purchase more and would like to know that there is something I can do about this situation.
