This is how all NGC coins should be slabbed!!!!

Yeah, instead of the stupid prongs, and instead of the shadows of the regular holders. Its the best of both worlds - the NGC trademark white, with the visibility and light of the prongs.

No doubt, clear prongs are much better. That's a sharp looking set. I just don't see why we have to have the bloody prongs in the first place, clear or otherwise. It seems to detract from it, in my opinion. It seems too busy or cluttered. My eye is too busy looking at the prongs, whereas the gasket or ring just sorta melds into the background. Simplicity is key! The holder should not take your attention away from the coin, and the prongs do that to me.

I like the prongs on toned coins, seems to let the light bounce off better!!

But I hate my roosies in the prong holders just way to small IMO to be in that type of holder.

They should offer clear prong or capsule-insert on ALL submissions on a new revised form. PLEASE NGC :(

Those clear prongs are very very VERY nice and the original post.. YES and YES !!

I don't care for look of the white prongs at all. The clear prongs are much better, and I hope that NGC will start to use them for all of their holders.

I love the edgeview on large coins, but the white porngs are too distacting on small coins, below half dollars. I prefer the clear insert on small coins, but a clear prong would suffice. I would love to see NGC move to clear inserts mounted inside the normal white piece, on all submissions, whether the insert be pronged or not.

Why do we need prongs for coins with no edge lettering?

So people can see the edge apparently..

There are smooth edges, milled, and both together (Australian $1 coin for example)

I think they should allow a choice of clear gasket and clear prongs. Even clear prongs are distracting for photography IMO.

I like the clear gasket look MUCH better, and it should be better for photography (although an ENTIRELY clear interior like the NCS holders would be better). I hope NGC DOES listen -- it could affect future submissions (including mine) if they insist on sticking with the ugly "white prong" holders.
