Conder edge/attribution?

4 posts in this topic

I've been unable to settle on the type of edge on this Northumberland (Newcastle) halffpenny. Half of the edge is fairly thick, quite a bit of smoothness but with vertical lines. The other half is a bit thinner with more roughness as well as vertical lines. According to D&H, the choices for Northumberland 3 are 1) plain (not in collar) on thin flan, 2) plain (in collar) on thick flan and 3) milled. Anyone care to venture a guess as to which this is?

It also comes as 3c rough milled which looks like it might fit your coin.

The 3c variety is listed in the new additions section at the beginning of the 1990 and later editions of D&H.
