1909S-VDB cleaned obverse

3 posts in this topic

Years ago I purchased in a Heritage Auction a group lot, included in that lot was a raw XF45/AU50 1909 svdb. while the reverse is a beautiful brown, the obverse has been cleaned and is an unnatural orangy color. Since this coin is expensive and I am no coin doctor, I was looking for suggestions on how to get the obverse a more brown color like the reverse.

Any suggestions welcomed

thanks

You could send it to NCS.. they may be able to clean it again and get it natual looking. At worst you can get it in a details slab

Bit tough without pictures.. but a details slab is where it will go since it is cleaned. You could ask for it to be slabbed reverse up.
