I have purchased a 1886 Proof set and your registry setting is incomplete.

It should have listed Both Type 1 and Type 2 Indian Head Pennies.

Can we adjust this so I can make my set 'complete'

Thank you

jgrinz,

It is customary for us not to break out varieties in Mint sets or Proof sets. Therefore you may register one or the other to the 1886 1C slot.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you for your inquiry.

You already have set the precident of this already being done

in other sets as in the 1979 and 1981 proof sets with type one and type two's

Why would it not be recognized in older sets such as the 1886 Proof set ?

Wouldn't the 1883 Nickel cents and no cents be a variety?

Seems like they set the precident on the older sets too.

I checked the 1873 Mint set to see if they had the open and closed 3s because they do on the 3cn mint set and they do not but the 1873 proofs have a ton of arrows and no arrows

With not allowing varieties shouldnt there only be one 1873 3cn in the 3cn set, one 1883 nickel in both of those sets and be able to pick the arrows or no arrows in the 1873 but not have both of them?

Can I add my two cents? Well, 5 cents actually.

Looking at the Buffalo Nickel Registry set, there are 3 Type 1's and 3 Type 2's for the 1913 series.

Anyway, I agree with Mike, a precedent has been set.

I think u made me more confused looking at your point table

3 varieties for the 1886 1c ???

I think the first three entries are negated by either the TYPE ONE or the TYPE TWO entries. Unless there is a third which is neither type one ot type two ???

Please enlighten me :)

We will take your request into consideration. I would just like to have a discussion with some of my colleagues about this topic in general.

Thank you for your inquiry.
