QUESTION: Among the rarest of Canadian coins are the 1936 dot varieties. Which USA coin is known with a dot applied deliberately to the die that was not a part of the design or legends?

1884 Morgan dollar. It comes with and without a dot on both the obverse and reverse. the dot on the obverse appears on the truncation of the bust and on the reverse it is on the ribbon that ties the wreath. in each case it is close to the designers initial. th dollars come with no dots, dot on obverse, dot on reverse, and dot on both sides.
