Jefferson Nickel 1944-D Raw---Grade Opinions Please!

What grade would you assign this raw 1944-D Jefferson Nickel?

I would say MS64 but I am concerned with the rim nick at 12 o'clock.

I'd say MS-63 BECAUSE of the rim nick at 12 o'clock and the mark on the end of Jefferson's nose. If it gets any higher than MS-64, the grader was too taken by the toning and overall look. BUT that rim nick really does keep it out of the GEM UNC status.

I agree with Bill, 63 and maybe max 64. The rim nick, mark in front of his nose, and the excessive chatter on his jaw are no brainer point deductions. Other than that, it is attractive.

63 or 64...I lean 64 even with the minor flaws...even with those flaws, a * from NGC might be within the realm of possibility, its got great eye appeal
