Conserve my Roman coin or not?

4 posts in this topic

It was suggested by a forumite that I have this coin conserved to increase it's value. The photos are super-macro. My main concern is the green spot on the tail of the coin. In hand, it looks like a tiny drop a green paint. Has anyone had a similiar coin conserved and can I see before and after pictures of it. I am very apprehensive about having it conserved. Thanks.

Conservation is not likely to do much for this coin's value, but it may help preserve it for the long-term by neutralizing active corrosion spots (green spots). It may clean up the appearance a little as well.
