technologies seems like an imprecise term, so i'll try to answer as best i can:

first, there are security threads that fluoresce in the paper of the higher denomination bills.

then, waterwarks are applied to the paper

the during the printing process, intaglio process is used for fine line printing with color shifting ink.

I just visited the BEP a week ago.....very cool process.

1st Process

Printing the Color-Shifting Ink

The Bureau prints the first prints coloring-shifting ink along with the water-mark

2nd Process

The backs of the notes are printed with green ink, allowed to dry for 24 to 48 hours.

3rd Process

The faces are then printed with black ink and also allowed to dry.

4th Process

A letterpress overprints with black ink the Federal Reserve District seal and its corresponding number designation. It then overprints the Treasury seal and serial numbers in green ink. carry an independent series of serial numbers.
