What should I do next?

2 posts in this topic

I came across an interesting penny while wrapping rolls a couple of weeks ago and decided to send to NGC for grading. It was returned to me encapsulated as

"LINCOLN 1C OBVERSE STRUCK

THRU CAPPED DIE

MINT ERROR MS 63 BN"

2281683-001

As a novice collector, please let me know the steps I need to take in determining what the value, if any, this error coin has.

Thanks for your interest and advice.

There is no fully reliable price guide for error coins, as each piece is unique in some manner. The Red Book provides a general guide by coin type and error type, but the most useful figures are auction results.
