Conserving aluminum coins?

5 posts in this topic

I tried a search and came up with nothing, so I ask....

I have noticed many aluminum coins can aquire a bit of haze (even in the mint packaging). Is this somethin NCS can conserve?

Thanks for any info.

Aluminum is tricky.
Exactly!

I've gotten a (relatively) couple of nice/rare-yet-not-too-expensive ones now that are a little hazed out with what I presume is oxidation.

I'd like to submit them, but I have no idea what, if anything, can be done to stabilze (or fix) them.

I don't mess with anything at all, and I would be most scared of aluminum. That's why I'd like to send to NCS, but not if it's a waste of time.
