Picture of the 1834 1/2 dime. Still think it was worth about $50.

Tought to tell much from the photos, but it appears to have been scrubbed pretty well.

Nice detail. I'd give it an XF 45. I do believe that it has been cleaned. In my mind, there is evidence around and between the "high points" to indicate that it once was probably a much darker, heavily toned coin. I can detect hairlines that might be an indication of how it was cleaned/abraided. Still, for $50, I think you did pretty well.

My opinion is that it was $50 that might have gone toward the purchase of a less abused coin, but that is just how I see it.

I also have to agree with Tom & relicscoin, this is a cbhd I would have passed on, I would next time go for an original xf, you will spend a tad more but will be much happier in the ownership aspect of the coin.

It was a good price, though I agree with Tom. $50 could have been much better spent.

Personally, I would gladly pay $50 for that coin with as much detail as it has.
