Is this an 1887 VAM-9?

Received this 1887 from Teletrade today in a nice 2nd Gen Holder.

 

The 1 in the date has some nice doubling on it on the bottom and I suspect that its a VAM-9 but VamWorld doesn't have any pictures for this old man to look at.

 

Can anybody validate this as a VAM-9? The description says "18 strongly doubled across bottom" but that 8 does not appear "strongly doubled"!
