Registry set request for NGC

Classic US Design Set, No Gold.

 

Parameters:

1) Excludes anything with a president on it.

2) Excludes a few minor design differences which show up in the full type sets such as "no drapery" etc.

3) Set scored on actual coins used, not by type, i.e. if you fill the type 1 SLQ slot with a 1916, you get more points than if you fill it with a 1917 of the same grade. This encourages the creation of more interesting sets.

 

I think a lot of people would participate in a set like this. Please take in under serious consideration. A complete list of slots follows:

OK, now that the "7070" set is done, how about this one for those of us who want our sets to go back to 1793 but exclude modern issues? By modern I do not mean 1965+ as in the regular type set, I mean what you see below. Adjustments made and reposted below....

I'm not a type set collector so I really don't care one way or another about those. But your idea for allowing NCS coins is a good one, I think. They have been certified as genuine, so they should be allowed with a placeholder value, I think. That is a good suggestion.

NCS registry set could make for an interesting adventure, errrrr, I mean collection. :)

 

I agree though, if someone was looking to create any set with eye appeal, low mint/rare, etc...coins, why not? Like "physics" mentioned, they're genuine. (shrug)
