WTB NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo Silver State Quarters

2 posts in this topic

I've been a long time comic collector, but now I have the itch to start collecting coins. The state quarters intrigued me so I figured I would start off my collecting habits with these coins.

I felt since they are fairly "new" in terms of age, I would seek to acquire the highest graded NGC mark, and the silver finish.

I'm only looking for the less expensive coins now, to start, so if anyone has any they would like to sell, please send me over a PM.

Oh, the Florida quarter would be a nice starting spot, as that is my home state

I think you are going to find that a complete set of PF70 UC's is going to cost you quite a chunk of change buying them individually. To be honest, you would have a very hard time distinguishing a PF69 from a PF70. I know that you can buy the complete set of Silver Proof States Quarters still in the mint cases for about $600. and it would cost you about the same amount (plus shipping and insurance) to have them graded by NGC.

Now, if you can't tell the difference between 69 & 70, and you are unable to distinguish between CAM & UCAM, then I would suggest that you buy the set and submit them for grading. Some of them will probably grade 70 and some of them will probably receive the UCAM designation, but you would still save yourself a considerable amount going this route.
