An improperly cleaned coin has had its surface metal forceably removed either mechanically or chemically. There is no way to properly restore what is lost.

NCS details grade holders will authenticate and encapsulate your coin with a grade of its details--that is a grade of the coin if it did not have the irreversible problem--and a description of the problem. The label may read, for example, XF Details, Improperly Cleaned.

Contact NCS at 866-627-2646 or ncshelp@ncscoin.com for additional information on NCS details grade holders.
