Erie Canal Medal( HK-1 ) in SILVER--how rare and how valuable???

6 posts in this topic

This is a question for the exonumists out there. Just how rare is an Erie Canal Completion Medal( HK-1 ) in Silver( actually HK-1000 )?? In the Hibler-Kappen text on So-Called Dollars in section IV, they state that less than 5 are known, but I have to believe there are more than five out there. I bought one a year ago from a good dealer friend after pestering him for nearly a year to sell it. grin.gif It is now in an NGC PR66 holder. Does anyone have a good idea what these are actually worth?
