Hello everybody.

Couple quikie ?'s for you all. Does anyone know why, or if, the 1969-S Lincoln penny is so valuable? According to the info I have, it's worth over $1000.

THANKS ALL!!!! signed, frustrated T

VERY distinctive doubling! Not quite as pronounced as the 55/55 (or even the 72/72) but definitely seen with the naked eye.

Don't be fooled either by those hub doubling coins (kind of like the 55/5 PoorMan's DoubleDie) you see, especially in PCI slabs going for way too much money for the coin.

Watch out also for strike doubling, which is just a mechanical flaw and very common for that date/mint. If you see doubling in the mintmark, this is strike doubling, since the mintmark was added to the die after it was hubbed. Only during the hubbing process does real die doubling occur.
