underweight planchet

6 posts in this topic

i found a copper lincoln cent, 1980 that has the sound of a canadian penny, if dropped. its not excessivly worn or corroded. appears totally normal besides IGWT being lightly struck. i weighed it and it is 2.6g, does this qualify as an underweight/error?

As far as I know we never struck cents for Canada and I can't find anything of a predominantly copper alloy that we struck for anyone in 1979 or 1980.
