New Discovery coin, 1992 DDO

6 posts in this topic

I just posted this ATS, but wanted to share it with my friends here also so I will repeat the post.

Talk about a major score for a variety weenie like myself.

This coin is now officially known as follows:

John Wexler - 1992 WDDO-002

Coppercoins - 1992 1 DO-001

CONECA (James Wiles) - 1992 DDO-001

Ken Potter - 1992 VCR#1 DDO #1

It is now featured on the CONECA Home page

I would like to personally thank BJ Neff for his help as it was actually BJ that sent this coin to ALL the Majors for attribution.

In fact, I have 4 of these coins and I told BJ to keep this one for himself only to have him return it to me because it is

the discovery piece and I discovered it. And BJ being BJ - he felt I should keep it.

Thanks BJ

It is classified as a Class VIII DDO with a bold doubled eye, very similar in class (but much more prominent in my opinion) to

the 1984 DDO also known as the doubled ear variety.
