I apologize if anybody has seen this but it just appeared in the latest issue of Coin World.

Fout Louisiana Scuba Divers operating on a shoestring budget recovered high grade U.S Southern Branch Mint gold coins plus many other U,S, and World coins. Some graded as the finest known and struck at the Dahlonega,Charlotte and New Orleans Mints. They also recovered a nearly complete collection by date of Capped Bust half dollars.

Among the Gold Coins discovered is an 1845-D Coronet, $2.50 quarter eagle graded NGC MS63 prooflike and an 1844-O Coronet half eagel graded NGC MS64

The Capped Bust half dollars included an 1815/2 example.

Although many of the Silver Coins had corrosion from the Salt Water, the Gold Coins were just as pristine as they were 160 years ago.
