No Date Canadian Cent

6 posts in this topic

Found this interesting little tidbit.....sorry about the photos....obviously a Canadian Cent...but with no date. Unfortunatly you can't see the wonderful blue toning on the no-date one.... I know very little about coins from our Northern neighbor....Is this a regular occurrence?....rare?.....does it happen much?...and How would something like this happen? I'd like to know.....

Look on the front. There may be a 1952 2002 date to the left of the truncation of the Queen's neck. If it is, that was done for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II's ascension to the throne.

Otherwise, you have a mule and I would need the image of the obverse and the composition (is it steel?) to determine the approximate year.

Scott :hi:

Canada did a similar thing in 1992 placing the double date867-1992 on the Reverse of the cent to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Canada.
