Guess the Grade and Overton on this 1832 CBH

17 posts in this topic

Yeah, I guess I'm hooked. I just got another one, this time from DLRC. This was my first transaction with them, and I was very pleased. Its in a PCGS holder, currently my only PCGS coin but the second one I've bought. It only makes me realize how much more I like the NGC holder. So, guess the grade, Overton, value, comments, whatever.

I'll go with XF43.

I wouldn't go any better than XF41 myself, but I could see a shot at XF42.

Nice original looking coin though.

PCGS graded it XF-40. Good guesses everyone!

Yep, as expected. While this is techincally overgraded, it is typical of PCGS "market grading". Still, a very nice and original coin!

This is a VF35 in my book; too much actual wear on the high points on the reverse (as opposed to weak strike, which would not affect the grade), but it's a nice original piece so it would probably sell for XF money raw. HOWEVER, being in a PCGS slab graded XF40, it could easily sell for AU money... doh!
