1851 one dollar gold coin w/3 stars on reverse

I have searched the internet for days trying to find a picture of an 1851 gold one dollar coin that has similar markings to my coin.

 

On the reverse of my coin there are 3 stars, 1 on each side of the number 1 and 1 at the bottom center where the mint mark goes. Can anybody enlighten me?

If this is a "fantasy" coin or a conterfeit why am I the only one in the world to have one?

The stars on the back are raised and are identical to the 13 stars on the face of the coin.

If the coin is genuine, the stars were added by someone after it was minted and it would be considered damage.

One other question, are the stars raised, above the field or are they incused, indented below the field?

I have a bust half with a tiny six-pointed "daisy" counterstamp. Do the "stars" you are referring to really look more like "daisies"?

Sounds like a fantasy coin----possibly it may have come from China. In any event, we can't help you without some good pics.

The coin has been in my family since early 1950's. I doubt it was worth it for anybody to copy these back then, but you never know.

If they are raised and truly identical to the stars on the obverse then it is probably a jewelry piece.
