Whats this NGC slab about ?

I believe if you have a large bulk order that NGC is willing to work with the submitter regarding the features of the certificate. If that is the case, then this might have been submitted with a large number of similar coins and was likely sold as a feature of a promotion.

Those “generic slabs” only authenticate that it is indeed a US minted coin and that it has been circulated. No grader is needed to assign a numerical grade to the coin reducing the cost to have these bulk graded.

 

These were offered en-mass on those US TV shows hawking coins…”own a piece of US history in this authenticated Morgan Silver Dollar, encapsulated for all time in this Numismatic Guaranty Corporation holder, the official grading service of the ANA” something to that effect.

 

Good that they are in an NGC holder being protected…but a bit over priced on the shows for an average AU Morgan.

So this is not an uncommon thing .. as it is the first one i have ever seen.. wonder if conder 101 has one ?

Yes Conder101 has three of them because they were produced over a fairly long period and there are three different varieties. They come with three different reverse holograms.
